An Atlanta native with a journalism degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, Rebecca has experience in editorial, content writing, and publicity at traditional publishing houses and tech start-ups.
Her work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Fox Business, The Balance, HerMoney, SBLI, and John Hancock.
She’s also a licensed Life, Health, and Disability insurance agent.
She began her career at Algonquin Books, a division of Workman Publishing, where she assisted on publicity campaigns for fiction and nonfiction titles, including works by bestselling authors Jonathan Evison, Kelly Barnhill, and Donia Bijan.
She then honed her publicity skills at Portfolio and Sentinel, two nonfiction imprints at Penguin Random House, where she executed several New York Times bestseller publicity campaigns, working with authors including Scott Galloway, Leila Janah, Annie Duke, Brian Kilmeade, Joe Nocera, and Laura Vanderkam.
To explore other aspects of the publishing process, Rebecca transitioned to Portfolio/Penguin’s editorial team where she worked on books from idea to bound book by bestselling authors including Ryan Holiday, Romi Neustadt, Marie Forleo, Julie Zhuo, Raegan Moya-Jones, and Emily Chang.
As an editor at Skyhorse Publishing, distributed by Simon & Schuster, she worked on a wide range of titles, focusing on books that ignite meaningful conversations and social change. She worked with authors including former NY Attorney General Robert Abrams, legal scholar and professor Julie C. Suk, psychologist Stephanie Newman, NYT Smarter Living contributor Marissa Miller, TV producer Michael Rosenblum, TV correspondent and fashion expert Sydney Sadick, and consultant Cole Brown.
Rebecca joined Policygenius in June 2020 as an editor and writer, covering Life and Disability Insurance. She’s written and edited over 200 articles for the company’s content library Learn Center, which have helped more than 30 million people get financial protection. Rebecca became a licensed insurance agent (Life, Health, and Disability) in the state of New York after passing the exam in June 2021.
